The Hot Flashes Movie | Battling Breast Cancer
Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out The Hot Flashes, a comedy about an unlikely basketball team of unappreciated middle-aged Texas women, all former high school champs, who challenge the current arrogant high school girls’ state champs to raise money for breast cancer prevention. Sparks fly as the women go to comic extremes to prove themselves on and off the court, become a national media sensation, and gain a new lease on life.
One of only 10 cities in the US getting a preview of the movie, Oklahoma City residents can enjoy a sneak peek at AMC at Quail Springs Mall today through July 18. It stars Brooke Shields, Darryl Hannah, Virgina Madsen, Camryn Manheim, Wanda Sykes, Eric Roberts and Mark Povinelli.
American Fidelity CEO and Tulsa Shock owner Bill Cameron supported the production of the movie because of its focus on breast cancer awareness and the positive message to young women about sports. American Fidelity provides Limited Benefit Cancer Insurance to help with some of the costs of cancer. The Hot Flashes helps raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of mammography, issues important to American Fidelity and our Customers.
One lucky AFA Customer won a role as an extra in the movie. A Drama teacher at Classen School for Advanced Studies, Michael Payne fittingly plays a teacher and achieved a lifelong dream of meeting Brooke Shields. The experience now gives him a real-life experience on a movie set to share with his students.
Don’t miss your chance to enjoy the show this weekend!
