American Fidelity is dedicated to the health and wellness of our Colleagues and that’s why we offer opportunities for them to get up and move. Just last week the AF Wellness Team put on a wellness carnival, Spring into Wellness. More than 200 Colleagues joined us on our outdoor property at 9K for a quick, fun, healthy break in the afternoon. Colleagues participated in a scavenger hunt where they took a walk around our walking trail and played ping pong, musical chairs, basketball and catch. Some Colleagues took the relaxing route and painted a spring picture while sitting on the patio. Healthy snacks were also offered for Colleagues. Check out some pictures from the event. ISD Colleagues celebrating a great year!
After a new year gets in full swing, American Fidelity takes time to celebrate our success from the prior year and thank our Colleagues for their hard work and dedication.
Just yesterday many of our teams started celebrating and others have plans in the coming weeks.
Our Life division Colleagues celebrated at Main Event with lunch and bowling and the Enterprise Business Services team will be venturing there in April for lunch, bowling, laser tag and more.
Our friends in IT took time out yesterday morning as one big team for breakfast and other treats.
The Financial Management Services team also enjoyed a come-and-go breakfast on their floor.
The Corporate and Human Resources teams are taking time out for lunch next week and Colleagues at our sister company, APL celebrated success with food, photo booths and goodie bags.
Colleagues in our Worksite division celebrated in the late afternoon with a Star Wars themed get together. They were encouraged to wear costumes, had snacks, music and more.
These are just a few ways American Fidelity celebrated 2015 success with our Colleagues. Would you like to join our team? Check out our OKC job openings and our field sales positions and learn about our hiring process.

“Working for American Fidelity has made me a better person by allowing me to gain financial stability, pursue my degree at work and awaken the community action and volunteerism within me. I got married, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, went through chemo treatment and had a baby while employed at American Fidelity. With the necessary time off, cancer insurance, disability plan and the love of my Colleagues ... I was covered. I want to provide the same great Customer service to others as I received.”
“It's great to come to a work environment that you can assist Customers, have a group of Colleagues who you know you can trust and count on when you need assistance and be able to balance your family and work life.”

2015 was a wonderful year for us here at American Fidelity, filled with friends, food and fun events. We’re already getting excited about all the cool things coming our way in 2016. Here’s a quick look at just a few of the happenings we’re most looking forward to in 2016.
- Colleague Appreciation Week – Spring is a lovely time in Oklahoma, and we like to make it even better by celebrating our Colleagues with food, fun, prizes and more!
- Customer Service Week – Held each October, Customer Service Week is a time for us to step back and reflect upon how important our Customers are to American Fidelity. Festivities abound during Customer Service Week.
- Movie Night – Our Colleagues will be invited to bring the family along for outdoor movie screenings in the summer.
- Food Trucks – While we have world-class eating establishments in our Home Office, we like to mix it up every once in a while by inviting food trucks to set up shop at American Fidelity.
- Bring Your Kids to Work Day – Children enjoy a day of fun activities and games, lunch and spending time with their parents or grandparents learning about American Fidelity.
- Service Awards - Each December we recognize those dedicated Colleagues who have worked for our Company for many years.
- AF Birthday – Birthdays are always a fun celebration, and American Fidelity’s is no exception! This year we’ll be celebrating 56 years of being in business.
Did you know that the average tenure of an American Fidelity Colleague is more than 10 years? We celebrate our Colleagues who choose to stay with us at their 3, 5, 10, 15 plus years of service (in increments of five years) anniversaries each December. Just last week we held our annual Service Awards. Colleagues with three and five years of service were recognized at department presentations in the morning and those with 10, 15, 20 or more years of service were invited to attend the Service Awards luncheon at the Skirvin Hilton in Oklahoma City. We had almost 300 Colleagues in attendance, representing more than 7,000 years of service to our Company. Check out our job openings and apply to join our team!
As the holiday season kicks off at American Fidelity and around the country, our Colleagues are taking the opportunity to give thanks with their teams, departments and divisions. Several groups got together to share a meal and celebrate the accomplishments for the year. The Enterprise Business Services group chose to not only get together and celebrate the holiday, they also took donations to benefit families outside the American Fidelity group. The team donated enough to provide Thanksgiving baskets to three families through the Salvation Army. Colleagues in Strategic Development, Strategic Alliances and Life divisions all came together as a large group to spend time with each other and build camaraderie by sharing a meal. Members of our Policy Administration team have been spending countless hours together working on their large project, but they took some time out to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Our Corporate and Human Resources (CHR) division combined a quarterly meeting with a Thanksgiving meal. In addition to talking about goals and hearing about ongoing projects in another division, CHR Colleagues shared a turkey dinner, and several brought sweet treats to share with the team. These are just a few examples of how teams across the Company are celebrating the season. Happy Thanksgiving!
Ghosts, goblins and other spooky creatures haunted the halls of American Fidelity’s Home Office last Friday as part of our annual Halloween Costume Contest. Colleagues from many different departments put their creativity on display before a panel of judges to see who had the best costume. Check out a few photos from this event! Prizes were awarded to best individual costume as well as best group costume, all during a fun ceremony open to all AF Colleagues. Did you dress up for Halloween this year? Let us know in the comments.
EBS Imaging Colleagues[/caption] At American Fidelity we take pride in serving our Customers each and every day. All last week we celebrated Customer Service Week. As a Company we kicked off a new Colleague recognition program called High 5 and everyone had opportunities to win prizes, while many areas of the Company had their own celebrations With the new recognition program, Colleagues have the opportunity to nominate anyone in the Company to receive a Kudos or a High 5 token that goes on their High 5 game board. Tokens are worth points, and once a Colleague receives so many points, they can be cashed in for different recognition offers. Different areas of the Company celebrated with things like pizza lunches, goody bags, free movie tickets or massage gift certificates, cupcakes and cookies and more. We appreciate all of the hard work our Colleagues put in each day and we thank them for their dedication to our Customers. Great work AF Colleagues! Are you interested in joining our team? Wow! We sure had a great time on Saturday! Colleagues brought their family members out for a day of food, fun and togetherness during our second annual Famboree. This year, we had a great catered picnic, complete with an ice cream bar. Grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs an even veggie burgers were served along with Cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad and watermelon. But the day wasn’t all about food. There were tons of activities for kids and adults. Colleagues and their family members flew down a zip line, somersaulted on the bungee trampoline, knocked each other around in the inflatable jousting arena and jumped in the bounce houses. Other activities included bingo, a cupcake walk, crafts and kite flying. Of course, the kids all enjoyed having their faces painted as well. Colleagues also had the opportunity to learn more about our featured charities for the event as representatives from each were on-site to talk with our Colleagues. This year’s charities were Citizens Caring for Children, Neighborhood Services Organization, Special Care and Sunbeam Family Services. “Famboree was fantastic! All four of us enjoyed zip lining, crafts, face painting and the food,” one Colleague said after the event. The annual event has become a tradition. We can’t wait for next year!
& Each fall, we get together one Saturday with our families to have a little fun and spend some time together outside of the office. For the last two years, our family event – known as Famboree – has taken place on the grounds of our new headquarters and has also featured a charitable element. Four charities are highlighted, and Colleagues choose which one will receive a $5,000 donation in conjunction with the event. The other three receive $1,000 each. All four are invited to send representatives to the event to talk to Colleagues about their organizations and opportunities to help. This year’s top charity is Citizens Caring for Children. The other three are Neighborhood Services Organization, Special Care and Sunbeam. All four have made a positive impact on the Oklahoma City community in their own niches. Here’s a little more about each of them.
- Citizens Caring for Children works in central Oklahoma counties to meet the unique needs of children and young adults in foster care through its Resource Center and mentor programs.
- Neighborhood Services Organization helps to transform lives and encourage independence through safe, healthy homes, dental care and nutrition.
- Special Care provides high-quality early childhood education, specialized care and on-site therapeutic services for children from 6 weeks to 21 years of age.
- Sunbeam provides help, hope and the opportunity to succeed to people of all ages and all stages of life in central Oklahoma through early childhood, counseling, foster care and senior services.
Famboree is scheduled for Sept. 26. We can’t wait to meet our Colleagues’ family members and other friends. It’s a bonus that we’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about four fantastic community organizations! &
