In a team meeting this week, my coworkers and I talked about how much easier it is to eat right at work than at home. We can go to our onsite grill for fresh fruit, yogurt or a veggie omelet for breakfast or grab a salad, grilled chicken with hot veggies or a tasty wrap for lunch. Since everything’s prepared for you and is readily available, it’s so much easier to make healthy decisions.
Now, American Fidelity’s wellness team is providing us with even more resources for healthy eating. Our Eat Smart program will now include fresh fruit and vegetable deliveries to break rooms each week. Having free fruit on hand should help keep me away from the candy bars!
We’re also continuing and starting new programs, such as:
- Cooking classes
- Nutrition classes
- Farmers markets
- Department challenges
- Executive challenges
- Nutritional information on our intranet
- Monthly wellness newsletters
Hopefully the nutrition and cooking classes will help give me the motivation I need to eat better at home too!
