Agent Compensation Specialist AFA’s agent compensation specialist will analyze and process field staff advance commissions, broker commissions and association fees; prepare statements; debit balances; ensure proper payment; assist with testing and implementing compensation systems and processes; and create ad hoc reports. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of experience in auditing, accounting and/or compensation. They should be proficient in Oracle Data Base Query System, PeopleSoft Accounting and Microsoft Office. Skills needed include analytical, interpretational, communications, math, time management, decision making and collaboration. They also need knowledge of state licensing issues including the Producer Licensing Model Act, legal documents and contracts, premium accounting procedures and corporate compensation policies. Software Developers AFA’s software developers develop, test and implement programs and applications. Depending on your prior experience, you may perform design and analysis, take the lead on software projects, research innovative solutions, lead and mentor co-workers, perform technical configuration and more. Our software team hosts an Innovation Challenge, assists with R&D, collaborates to solve problems and participates in mentoring programs. Candidates need three or more years of experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, math, engineering, physics or a related area of study. They need to be familiar with a variety of software requirements, development tools and programming languages.
