AFA Colleagues volunteering with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma[/caption] We talk a lot about the various charitable activities AFA participates in as a Company and with our Colleagues, but we don’t often get to talk about the things our Colleagues do within their individual departments. So, we’ve asked our Colleagues to tell us what their teams do for charitable work. Some of the responses are shown below. “We have gone to the Regional Food bank numerous times. We have done this as a team building event and also during the times the Company has sponsored it. Our department really gives back. We have several representatives including myself who not only serve as United Way Ambassadors, but also on the Presidents Round Table Committee. Our department has a really good success ratio of giving and we steadily increase each year. Our Colleagues are encouraged to attend the AF sponsored United Way events such as the Agency Fair, Agency Tours and the United Way Pacesetter Games.” “We participate with the Christmas Adopt a Family from Sunbeam in which we adopt a family and make sure all of the items listed on the wish list are granted.” “We recently supported the March of Dimes campaign and participated in the walk. We also have a Colleague who has started a non-profit organization called Gold for Kids. They raise money for pediatric cancer treatments on more of a local level. They have a fundraising campaign and walk each September. I hope to be able to get together a team for that as well.” These are just a few charitable activities that are done at a team level.
