Part of this stance means embracing new technological advances that better serve our Customers and our Colleagues and one of the biggest initiatives in this direction is our Mobile Workforce. Mobile Workforce is a work from home program that gives AF Colleagues the flexibility to serve Customers both from home and different places throughout the workplace. Our Colleagues are no longer tied to just one desk and one phone! Telecommuting gives us the flexibility to deal with issues like inclement weather while giving our Colleagues’ work/life balance a major boost. “I love the reduction in my commute and gas bill, and it definitely improves the balancing act with home and work,” said Heather Webb, benefits adjuster. “I am able to spend the time I would be commuting with my husband and dogs or getting things done around the house.” Managers at American Fidelity are also reaping the benefits of a mobile workforce. “Mobile Workforce has been a win-win for both the Colleague and the Company,” says Gary Akers, vice president of benefits. “We have taken proactive steps to plan for inclement weather in advance by offering Colleagues the option of working from home on days when the Colleague is scheduled to work in the office and there is a potential for inclement weather.
