I’ve had plenty of great teachers in my life, but especially memorable was my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Grisham. She was so encouraging and supportive of me in a time when I was struggling to find my place in this world. If she was still teaching today, I would nominate her for the Magic 104 Teacher Feature, which is sponsored by American Fidelity. The program picks one teacher each week during the school year to recognize on air. The teacher gets a prize package and is in the running for the Teacher of the Year. This year, the winner is a principal who serves as the rock her staff can depend on at school. Teachers at Ranchwood Elementary in Yukon know they can depend on Kristin Kilpatrick to support them in any way she can. She understands what teachers need to provide the best possible education for the students in their care. Ms. Kilpatrick was one of five finalists for the Teacher of the Year, and won the overall listener vote earlier this month. We were proud to join Jeff “Magic Man” Roberts at the school to surprise her during a morning assembly. True to her nature, Ms. Kilpatrick has designated her $500 cash prize to help fund needs at her school. Magic 104 publishes all of the Teacher of the Week winners on its website each week, and now the information about Ms. Kilpatrick is on display. Be sure to check it out and learn more about the amazing educator! We want to hear from you. What teachers have had a lasting impact on your life, or the lives of your children?
