One of the things I love about working at American Fidelity is our dedication to giving back to the community. And since many of our Customers are teachers, supporting education-related programs and non-profits is important to us. We were recently able to help the Oklahoma City Public School (OKCPS) district by providing a $35,000 furniture donation. “Educators are the foundation of our success as a company and our success as a nation,” said Dave Carpenter, American Fidelity president and chief operating officer. “We’re proud to support our local school system any way we can, whether it’s by donating furniture, contributing to the Teachers’ Warehouse, building a playground or encouraging colleagues to tutor through our partnership with Buchanan Elementary, which is part of the Oklahoma City Public Schools.” As we prepare for our move, we’re consolidating and updating some of our furniture, giving us the opportunity to help OKCPS with their own moves. OKCPS is moving their administrative office and putting some of the administrative staff directly in the schools they serve. The furniture AFA provided will go to four area schools that will house these administrative employees. “We appreciate American Fidelity’s spirit of generosity; it reflects the community support that is so critical to our district. The donation will help place a number of our central office staff members closer to the customers we support: our students, teachers and principals,” said Dave Lopez, OKCPS interim superintendent. We know education is important to our blog readers too, as last year you selected Positive Tomorrows over two other charities to receive a $1,000 donation from AFA. If we held a similar contest this year, which charities would you be interested in participating in the contest?
