Women Advancing in Leadership Positions
With Women’s History Month and the release of Sheryl Sandberg’s new book on women and leadership, it seems like everyone’s talking about the status of women in corporate life. At American Fidelity the future looks bright for female leaders, as they hold 65 percent of the Company’s supervisory positions.
Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook and author of “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead,” reports that “In the United States, women have had 14 percent of the top corporate jobs and 17 percent of the board seats for 10 years.”
American Fidelity comes in well above those averages, with women comprising 64 percent of the workforce and 65 percent of supervisor level and above positions. Females serve in 27.7 percent of executive positions and in many additional senior management positions, including 50 percent of officer positions.
“American Fidelity proudly supports women in leadership. Women have earned many of the top promotions during the past few years, including becoming COOs of our two largest strategic business units,” said Jeanette Rice, executive vice president of human resources, public relations, branding and technical. “I credit part of that success to our succession planning and training programs, as most of our top executives are promoted from within.”
American Fidelity proudly recognizes the women who serve our key leadership positions, including: chief operations officers of our two largest divisions, chief information officer, controller, chief marketing officer, vice president of Customer service, vice president of risk management and vice president of health services administration.
