I always love hearing about fellow Colleagues who get involved with the community. This week, a brave foursome had their heads shaved as part of the national St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s fundraisers to help them find cures for childhood cancers.

Colleague John Lindsey started the movement a few years ago. The cause is near and dear to his heart because his niece was diagnosed with cancer when she was 17. She is doing great now, but it certainly made his family much more aware of the need to find cures.

John was joined in the shaving by three other Colleagues: Amy Rose, Aaron Stockton and Danny July. Wow! It’s one thing for the guys to go bald, but it takes another level of commitment for a lady to join. Thanks, Amy, for your commitment!

The team, known as American Fidelity’s Brethren of Bald, has raised about $7,500 for the cause this year, and more donations are coming in. In addition to accepting cash donations, the team sold some pretty awesome T-shirts to raise money for the cause. Check out their page on the St. Baldrick’s website.

Thanks to all of you guys who are representing American Fidelity in the community and working hard to make our world a better place! What community organizations do you support?
